Saroma began with a deep belief in the healing power of nature, essential oils, and genuinely helping people feel better naturally.

My journey started many years ago while living in England, where I first discovered essential oils and became fascinated by how they could support both the body and mind. I have always had a strong sense of smell, and I was drawn to the calming, healing and restorative qualities of natural aromas and plant-based remedies.

When I returned home to Australia, I studied massage therapy for two years before completing diplomas in aromatherapy and aromatic medicine. From there, I began creating natural products designed to support common skin conditions, hayfever symptoms, insect bites, irritation and everyday wellbeing.

After the birth of my daughter in 1997, I realised I had to find a way to soothe the mosquito bites that my baby was suffering from. The bite & burn balm was created and not only soothed the bites, they healed quickly and stopped itching. In 2004 I renamed the product BuzzBalm™ after a very dear friend died after a hang-gliding accident. BuzzBalm™ has become a generational product and has become one of most well-loved products at Saroma.

Saroma Natural Therapies began handcrafting products long before natural skincare became mainstream. Back then, natural products were far less common, but I believed people were searching for gentler alternatives that truly worked.

Today, every Saroma product is still handmade by me in small batches, using carefully selected ingredients and lots of love and care.

Over nearly 30 years, Saroma has grown through word of mouth, loyal returning customers, and genuine conversations with people looking for natural support for their skin and wellbeing. I still love meeting customers face to face at local markets, especially the Mornington Main Street Market where I’ve been part of the community for more than 25 years.

One of the things I love most about my business is hearing customer stories. Many people tell me they’ve been using Saroma products for years and are now buying them for their own children and grandchildren. That means the world to me.

I genuinely care about helping people and keeping things simple. Over the years, listening, learning, and working closely with customers has taught me that wellness doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes nature, consistency and care can make all the difference.
